field across Chicagoland (youll start your day at the jobsite and
work closely with the project team). Note: This role is a fit for
either : A recent U.S. bachelors grad in Civil Engineering or
Construction Management, or Someone with 1 year of heavy
civil/heavy highway construction experience Please do not submit
candidates who: Have a masters degree in civil engineering , or Did
not complete their undergraduate degree in the U.S. About Our
Client Our client is a well-established heavy highway / civil
construction contractor known for delivering high-quality
infrastructure projects with a strong focus on safety, teamwork,
and getting the work done the right way. Job Description Support
heavy highway projects as a Field Engineer (bridges/roadways/IDOT
-style work) Work daily with Project Managers, Superintendents,
Foremen, and crews Coordinate material deliveries and ensure proper
certifications per contract requirements Maintain daily field
documentation (reports, schedules, photos, tracking) Monitor
subcontractor progress and support schedule execution Help manage
and balance concrete deliveries and pours Assist with closeout
tasks, quantities, and job cost reporting Work outdoors year-round;
occasional second shift during phase changes Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
from a U.S. university 0–5 years of experience (field/engineering
internships/co-ops count for entry level) Exposure to heavy highway
/ heavy civil construction is strongly preferred OSHA 10 or 30
preferred Comfortable working on active jobsites and collaborating
with field crews Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Bluebeam
familiarity is a plus Valid drivers license and willingness to
