The PositionThis Spring, Wisconsinites have a huge opportunity to impact the make-up of the Wisconsin Supreme Court which is critical to protect civil and human rights for years to come across the state. As many states across the country are rolling back and limiting civil and human rights the State Supreme Court is more important than ever. Join us as we seek to make a difference for all Wisconsinites by educating and motivating voters to get out and vote this April in this massively important election. - -Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin and The Outreach Team are partnering to reach as many voters as possible in Madison to ensure that Wisconsin elects a State Supreme Court Justice that has Wisconsinite's best interest at heart and seeks to protect rather than minimize access to civil and human rights. In order to achieve this goal we need strong and enthusiastic Directors to help us lead a team of canvassers to victory. This race is highly contested and there is a lot at stake from voting rights to reproductive rights (and more). This Supreme Court will likely have an outsized impact on our country for years to come.Directors will recruit, train, and manage a team of local canvassers to engage with voters in Milwaukee, WI. Additionally, the Lead Campaign Director will manage a team of two or more Deputy Directors and will be responsible for building an office to scale from the ground up. This position reports to the Project Director.Dates: This project starts 03/13/2023 and ends 04/04/2023 -Location: Racine, WI -Canvass Management Responsibilities:

Manage a team of 10 - 15 canvassers, setting goals and holding staff accountableTrain and provide ongoing motivation and support to staffIdentify, promote, and train a leadership teamBuild a diverse team where staff feel respected while fostering a culture of equity and justice -Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of the work we doGo in the field yourself a few days per week to engage with voters, train staff, and help drive office goals. All Directors must canvass. -Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff -Develop strategic plans to reach target voters/constituencies in assigned locationsManage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distributing materials -Qualifications:Must have
Strong management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team while also holding staff accountable to goals and expectationsCan speak compellingly about campaign issues and strategyWilling and able to listen to staff and solve problemsCommitted to equity and inclusionStrong work ethic; able to persevere in the face of challenges and setbacksAttention to detail, and ability to drive best practices critical for protecting the integrity of the registration processFlexible; ready for the unexpected and willing to adapt to last-minute changesEager to learn and open to feedbackBasic tech competency (G-suite, Microsoft office, VAN, MiniVAN, smartphone, or computer)Passion for social change and protecting reproductive freedomsNice-to-have
Direct experience within the communities we will be engaging withExperience running paid door to door canvasses or managing paid staffExperience running voter registration or petition signature-gathering effortsTeam building abilityA track record of success in meeting or exceeding goalsExperience working in underserved or marginalized communitiesFacilitation experienceSalary: The salary range for this position is $1250-$1425 per week. We offer a generous benefits package, including paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, phone and data stipend, and hands-on training.
