Manufacturing Division which is located in Hayward,
California.POSITION SUMMARY:Working with the Natural Formulas and
NeoLife Product Science and Technology team, assists new and
current product development projects. Coordinates with the Product
Science and Technology team on research and development and product
development activities for the company's product lines.JOB
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide managerial and technical (i.e., pilot and
manufacturing) guidance in formulation development, based on
NeoLife marketing and Product Guidelines provided by the
International Product Science and Technology team.
- Participate with regulatory compliance team in formulary
review.
- Train and coach members of the team, assign and delegate
duties/responsibilities to team members and follow up to ensure
completion of same.
- Work with the Product Science and Technology team to review
outside manufacturer formulas and provide recommendations.
- Interact with the Product Science and Technology team and
provide technical support as and when needed.
- Keep current on technological developments and continue
education in nutritional and pharmaceutical fields, by attending
seminars, conferences and classes to continue to enhance knowledge
base about areas of company interest.
- Research new raw materials (active ingredients) as well as new
and alternate excipients for approval by the Product, Science and
Technology team. Visit and interact with vendors for information on
same.
- Interact with purchasing personnel and the Product, Science and
Technology team, regarding new
ingredients/replacements/noncompliance of raw materials received
with specifications, etc.
- Interact with accounting personnel on new and reformulated
product costing.
- Interact with all departments while coordinating and directing
all aspects of developing new products and/or revising current
products, to comply with all applicable regulations, from concept
through completion.
- Develop a Project Management System, updated daily, to track
the status of new and current product projects.
- Initiate and head product project meetings with department
heads to ensure projects are moving along, meeting established
deadlines. Report back to VP Product Supply and Product Science and
Technology team with updates, as needed.JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science or general
science and four plus years related experience, or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with an FDA regulated facility.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
(GMP's) preferred.
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written skills.
- Ability to manage direct reports and foster teamwork and
collaboration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word,
