Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Radiology Technician - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Allied Position Job Notes: /n/n Travel or Local Allied Healthcare Professional needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. /n/n Opportunity: /n Diagnostic Imaging - Radiologic Technologist /n/n Job Details: /n • Perform diagnostic radiographic, portable, c-arm and fluoroscopic procedures /n• Review patients' clinical history ensuring appropriate orders are placed and labs are within range /n• Provide patient education and instruction /n• Select and operate imaging equipment, image capture devices and accessories /n• Position patients to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest while respecting patient ability and comfort /n• Determine radiographic technique and exposure factors following ALARA principles /n• Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others /n• Process images and review for proper identification and quality control /n• Use radiology information systems including PACS and complete required records and reports /n• Document all information pertinent to procedures in electronic medical record /n• Operate mobile radiologic equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patient's bedside /n• Assist radiologist in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations /n• Prepare contrast media and assist in administration /n• Provide practical instruction for radiography students and partners /n• Graduate of accredited School of Radiologic Technology required /n• Minimum 2 years experience required /n• ARRT Radiography registration required /n• IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required for Illinois work /n• CPR or BLS certification within 90 days required /n• Expert level knowledge of electronic medical record, PACS, and imaging equipment required /n/n Facility: /n This comprehensive medical center features a full-service hospital and trauma center providing advanced healthcare services to the community.
