Must-Have: Vent/trach experience required Description: Critical
care registered nurses provide care for patients with severe
medical conditions. They assess patient conditions and create and
implement care plans. They treat wounds and provide advanced life
support. They assist physicians in procedures and monitor patient
vital signs. They ensure the proper functioning of medical
equipment and adjust ventilators as needed. They administer
intravenous fluids and medications. They perform suctioning and
collaborate with the critical care team. They respond to
life-threatening situations using nursing standards and protocols.
They advocate for patients and provide education and support to
patient families. They may care for pre- and post-operative
patients. Some nurses take on roles as case managers or policy
makers, while others handle administrative duties. Candidates will
be required to float to other units based on facility census. 5
