Job Description Discover and optimize peptide therapeutics against high-value biological targets. Work on a cross-functional team that leverages cutting edge (bio)chemical, biophysical, and computational tools. Serve as the driving force behind all steps throughout the ideate-experiment-analyze cycle. Responsibilities Routinely demonstrate scientific initiative and creativity in research and development activities. Highly autonomous in performing laboratory research or method development, requiring only minimal direction from or interaction with supervisor. Formulate conclusions and design follow-on experiments based on multidisciplinary data. Initiate new areas of investigation that are scientifically meaningful and can be incorporated into a research or development plan. Primary author of publications, presentations, regulatory documents, and/or primary inventor of patents. Effectively communicate results and conclusions to a wide range of target audiences. Demonstrate high proficiency across wide range of relevant techniques/technologies. Maintain a high level of efficiency and productivity. Adhere to timelines. Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, and controlled drug and radioactive compounds where applicable. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or equivalent education and typically 10 years of experience, Masters Degree or equivalent education and typically 8 years of experience, PhD and no experience necessary. Possess thorough theoretical and practical understanding of own scientific discipline. Extensive experience with peptide design for optimization of properties such as affinity, activity, and/or stability. Thorough knowledge of Chemical Biology principles as they relate to the structure and function of peptides, proteins, and other biomolecules Experience with biochemical and biophysical techniques to generate data in support of peptide development, such as ELISA, FRET, SPR, Cell-Based Assays, or Circular Dichroism Preferred Qualifications: Experience with data analysis tools such as Spotfire, GraphPad Prism, and PyMol Basic understanding of computer programming Additional Information Applicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state orlocal law: The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Companybelieves ingood faith it will pay for this role at the timeofthis posting based on the job grade for this position.Individualcompensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location,andwemay ultimatelypay more or less than the posted range.
