Reporting directly to the Vice President & General Counsel for North America, this position provides counsel to internal clients on legal matters within recognized area(s) of expertise and responsibility, to preserve and protect the rights and interests of the company; and manages outside counsel in claims and litigation as they arise. This position is eligible for HYBRID flexible work arrangements!


  • Maintains expert knowledge and awareness of court precedent and government regulations (federal, state, local or provincial) in labor and employment law, and employee and data privacy/security to reduce business risk and ensure compliance within the limits prescribed by law.
  • Advises, counsels, and/or assists internal clients in promptly answering their legal questions, providing guidance, reviewing policies and documents and providing training.
  • Directs outside legal counsel during all phases of claims and litigation to protect CNH business interests; develops and guides strategy in conjunction with client business needs.
  • Manages outside counsel, fees and case budgets; suggests appropriate reserves; recommends settlement and trial strategies.
  • Reviews supply/staffing contracts relating to hiring or consulting.
  • Serves as an integral member of Legal team responsible for M&A transaction support with regard to labor and employment due diligence, contractual provisions, and acquisition integration. This position pays between $124,000 to $190,000. (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)


    • J.D. Degree and a current member of the appropriate State Bar.
    • Minimum 7 years related experience in-house or in labor and employment practice of major law firm. In-house experience preferred but not required with experience directly advising in-house clients.
    • Experience either working for a manufacturing company or a manufacturing client. Preferred Candidate:
      • Comprehensive experience in phases of the law applicable to Company operations. Focus, experience and emphasis on employment and labor matters required, including proven experience providing guidance and advice to internal clients on hiring, employment, employee discipline, termination, handling of claims, training, policies and other Human Resources-related areas. Experience with employment-related administrative and litigation claims desired.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Ability to provide timely, practical answers to questions from business clients and encourage confidence and good judgment.
      • Extensive amount of independent thinking and clear strategic analysis is required.
      • Regular and consistent attendance and ability/willingness to respond to clients and counsel beyond regular business hours. #LI-HC2
