We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer to bolster an already strong and talented team. This individual will be responsible for working cross functionally with Manufacturing, Customer Service, Tech Support, Engineering and Quality to establish, implement, maintain and continually improve our product quality and reliability to deliver a positive customer experience. This opening is a tremendous opportunity for an engineer with strong technical and communication skills to positively impact customer satisfaction. They will be working on our manufacturing plant floor to perform root cause diagnosis to the manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement and running quality related projects. These projects are tied to reducing scrap, improving quality, improving yield and reducing cost. Responsibilities + Establish, administer, and effectively maintain the internal corrective and preventive actions systems. + Perform root cause analysis and develop effective countermeasures by utilizing Six Sigma; DMAIC, 8D and/or A3 methodologies. + Maintain and continually improve our Quality Management System to uphold compliance to ISO9001 or other requirements specified by our customers. + Work with our Engineering organization to construct suitable qualification plans and assist in validating and approving the results. + Prepare daily and weekly quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations. + Participate in daily Gemba walks and communicate relevant updates as it pertains to important quality issues and core metrics. + Work with other departments to develop plans, presentations and other materials as may be necessary to resolve quality issues in a timely manner. + Collect and analyze data to eliminate redundant or unnecessary processes and improve existing processes, driving towards defect predictability. + Address customer issues in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction. + Ensure all quality and procedure related documentation is kept current and controlled. + Maintain highest quality control standards in accordance with existing quality control plans. Key Attributes + Ability to develop project and implementation plans as well as drive progress within and across departments to meet objectives according to the plan or defined timelines + Self-starter with strong personal work ethic, sense of ownership, and a whatever it takes attitude who will drive projects through to completion. + Strong attention to details. + Summarize data and communicate findings quickly. + Ability to adjust to changing priorities and schedules to keep projects and commitments on-track. + Provide flexibility for 24x7 technical support for critical issues. + Must be able to provide timely communication across the organization on quality related matters and be willing and able to escalate those issues requiring immediate attention. + Lead and drive the organization using widely accepted quality techniques such as the 8D problem solving, 5 Whys, Kaizen events, etc. + Demonstrate abilities to lead in problem solving/countermeasure events where quality issues are diagnosed, discussed, and resolved. Minimum Qualifications + 2+ years experience in a Quality or Engineering related field or equivalent experience. + Minimum of a Bachelors degree in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering; and/or suitable work experience. + Practical experience and knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies. + Demonstrate abilities to lead in problem solving/countermeasure events where quality issues are diagnosed, discussed, and resolved. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills. + Strong problem-solving abilities. + Capable of working and influencing across the organization. + Experience with implementation of corrective action programs such as 8D or A3. + Experience with databases and data analysis tools (Oracle, PowerBI, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.). + Including but not limited to automating data extraction, mining and visualization. Preferred Qualifications + Practical experience and knowledge of printed circuit board (SMA/SMT), die cast, and injection molding. + Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification. ASQ certified would be a plus. + Experience driving ASQ Quality 4.0 systems. + LED or lighting industry experience. + Applied knowledge of APQP and PPAP tools. + Experience in semiconductor device and/or failure analysis. + Advanced knowledge of Office 365 applications, SharePoint management; automated data extraction, mining and visualization tools.
