Under the direction of the Wastewater Department, this position
is responsible for performing manual labor of various kinds calling
for physical strength and endurance, plus operating equipment for
general repairs and maintenance.
Working in the laboratory conducting testing such as total
solids, pH and bacterial testing.
Preparation of reagents, bench-sheets and washing dishes.
Cut grass and weeds with hand or power mowers, rakes grass and
leaves, trims hedges or shrubbery, and grades lawns and park

Physical Demands of the Position
Duties involve the regular, and at times sustained, performance
of heavier physical tasks such as walking over rough or uneven
surfaces, bending, stooping, kneeling, leaping, jumping down (at
least one foot), standing in place or continual walking, working in
confined spaces, and lifting or carrying moderately heavy (20-50
pounds) items on a consistent basis. May involve the complex
operation of gasoline, electric, or diesel-powered machinery,
requiring the manipulation of multiple controls, fine adjustments
or both; or involves the frequent use of coordination and
manipulation skills in performing a variety of tasks with the full
range of hand and power tools.
