Our Sturtevant, WI location is part of our Meat Division and creates dry seasoning blends for meat and snacks items that spice up the life of Kerry customers.  We work hard, play hard, and give back to the community we work in through our Kerry employee engagement program - and we’re proud of that contribution to our local food banks and organizations. What you'll do:

In this role you will partner with key stakeholders across Operations, Quality, Safety, Engineering, Procurement, CI, Supply Chain, HR, and Finance to support delivery of Taste & Nutrition business growth enablement agenda. You will lead through direct and matrix relationships. You will be accountable for all aspects of plant performance and will ensure that objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner that is consistent with quality requirements. You will prove leadership and direction for all plant operations in a matrixed environment to achieve continuously improving results in the areas of safety, food quality, cost, service, (operational excellence/ reliability) and employee engagement.  The matrix organization will include: Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, HR, CI, Quality, Safety and Finance.


Core capabilities would include functional and leadership capability, leadership coaching & team building, organizational & manager effectiveness and efficiency (simplify and de-complex), continuous improvement mindset, talent development & management, driving a high-performance culture, engagement and cultural alignment.  Key Measurement of Success will be owning site people & food safety initiatives, Accountability for Site KPIs, scorecard, X-Matrix, and site master plan, including the optimal use of capital, Developing and deploying site specific strategies to drive improvements across our key priorities of S, Q, Service, and C, Workforce planning to translate business needs into sourcing requirements, Building capable workforce, developing talent pipeline and succession plans. Key Deliverables include create and communicate a clear vision for the future to inspire and drive the site to achieve and surpass business goals and objectives, develop strategies for growth, set stretching but achievable targets and monitor performance to target for each functional area: Safety, Operations Engineering/Maintenance, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Inventory Control, monitor and audit plant processes, responsible for overall site operational improvements by modeling and supporting a continuous improvement culture with the entire plant team, develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program, inclusive of a maintenance master plan, use process mapping to support Process Optimization, seek opportunities to optimize cost and demonstrates an understanding of all cost drivers and their impact, work closely with HR on workforce planning, develop EVP (Employee Value Proposition) for the site and foster an environment of engagement and empowerment, responsible for corporate and plant-level safety, quality and financial initiatives and on-going training and compliance, understand the key success factors of the business, exercise sound judgement and inspire confidence in our customers. (we need to suggest the end-to-end mindset, inclusive of plant operations, to the distribution network, middle office engagement and to our customers), learn EUM (End Use Market) and gain deep understanding of customer strategic objectives, Critical Competencies, Business Acumen, Customer Focus, Continuous Improvement, Ensures Accountability, Delivers Consistent Results, Creates Collaborative Relationships, Develops Talent, Practices Breakthrough Thinking, Navigates Complex Challenges, Engages Employees, Ownership, Inclusiveness, Open Mindedness, Conflict Management/Resolution, Ethics & Values.

What you'll need to be successful:

Background & Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or MBA, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Track record of continuous professional development
  • 5+ years’ plant operations experience
  • 8+ years’ plant operations experience for Complex sites.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants : Understanding of USDA/FDA as well as HACCP, GMP’s, ISO,  SOP’s, AIB, Organic, and Hazard Analysis
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of other languages is a plus
  • Able to lead Continuous Improvement initiatives, inclusive of root cause analysis, 5S, and basic practical problem solving. 
  • Strong coaching expertise and knowledge of leadership development
  • Strong project management experience
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Able to explain training methodology (material, approach, progression) to our operating staff.
  • Aptitude for equipment operation and basic troubleshooting capability.
  • Experience with success factors and Kronos timekeeping a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Openness to the opportunities in Developed and Emerging Markets is a plus
