Professional Services Group, Inc.Description:
The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is a nationally and
internationally recognized parenting and family strengthening
program for high-risk and general population families. The position
will provide community-based services via groups to both eastern
and western Racine County families. The focus is to improve
parenting skills and family relationships and reduce delinquency
and alcohol & drug abuse in children. Child maltreatment also
decreases as parents strengthen bonds with their children and learn
more effective parenting skills.Brighter Futures Initiative The
program provides a county-wide substance abuse prevention program
targeted to elementary school and middle school-age children and
their parents. The program incorporates the previously independent
Holistic Prevention Program as a program component. Although the
program's services can include single presentations to groups of
children/youth in schools, churches, community centers, etc., the
program's primary focus must be on services provided to
selected/registered groups of children/youth over a period of time
so that the impact of the program can be measured. A major emphasis
of the program is helping youth identify their interests, identify
short and long-term goals, develop short and long-range plans for
implementing their goals, and assist youth in achieving their
goals. The program's services are provided during the school day,
after school hours, evenings and weekends during the school year
with additional scheduling during the summer months.Salary: $16.83

and evaluate clients to complete the registration process.Recruit
families and coordinate services with other community providers,
including substance abuse prevention services.Utilize the
Strengthening Families Program and Brighter Future Initiative
curriculum, which is an evidence-based parenting skill, children's
social skills, and a family life skills training program
specifically designed for high-risk families.Provide LifeSkills
Training to clients and families.Demonstrate competency in the
areas of diversity, e.g., culture, race/ethnicity, religion,
language, social customs, disabilities, economics, gender, and
age.Have a strong knowledge of community resources and refer
families to needed services.Conduct face-to-face contact with
families, per program standards, to promote and teach healthy
parent-child communication.Safely transport clients as
needed.Provide flexible hours and diverse and accessible locations
and make meeting families where they are a priority. e.g.,
community/neighborhood centers, churches, schools, family resource
centers, hospitals, public meeting rooms, etc.
Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid
driver's license, and automobile insurance. Bachelor's Degree in
Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or other related fields
