Family Support Workers seek to preserve the family unit by working with families to address safety concerns or threats. Our program is designed to be community based, comprehensive, culturally competent, family focused and individually tailored to meet the needs of children and familiesFamily Support Workers will also focus on enhancing the parent's ability to appropriately care for and relate to the child, helping the parent(s) to develop appropriate parenting behaviors, and identify and resolve problems before the children return home in cases where children are placed out-of-home.SALARY: $18.00-20.00 per hourLOCATION & HOURS: Office is based in Racine, WI. Hours are typically Monday-Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm with occasional evenings to accommodate clients' needs.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Manage protective plans and in-home safety plans. Ensure that danger threats are being controlled and the issues of maltreatment are addressed.Conduct home visits to assess risk of child abuse/neglect, plan for child safety, and strengthen families.Conduct face-to-face contacts with all assigned families as instructed by the safety plan, at minimum, on a weekly basis.Facilitate parent education to strengthen families and reduce risk of maltreatment.Provide service referrals, resources, and link families to community supports to achieve and maintain child safety.Coordinate and facilitate the Family Teaming process.
