Sonographers provide direct patient care under the direction of a Radiologist, with emphasis on maintaining organizational values and standards of behavior. The technique is operator-dependent, and its optimal performance requires a highly skilled and well-educated individual who can continuously integrate known clinical information, ultrasound image content and related physiologic data to tailor the examination to ensure that it is comprehensive and accurate. Diagnostic Medical Sonographers are required to participate in an on-call rotation based on department needs outside of business hours and must be able to work weekends and holidays.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma with associated license/certification as listed belowMinimum 2 years of direct patient/health care experience (accredited program may count as experience)Registered by RDMS in Physics and one of the following upon initial hire date: Abdomen, OB/GYN or RVTRegistered or Registry-eligible for any certification not held at the time of initial hire as follows:*Must have registries in each of the following within 90-day orientation period:PhysicsAbdomen or OB/GYNRVTIn-depth knowledge of adult, pediatric, neonatal and fetal physiology, cross-sectional and vascular anatomyExperience and ability to recognize normal and abnormal findingsDemonstration of clear and concise verbal and communication skillsPatient care and effective communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred Qualifications:Associates or Bachelor degree from an accredited ultrasound programBLS certificationExperience with varying ultrasound equipment systems and proceduresExperience and training in neonatal environmentEEO/M/F/D/V#Madison123FTE0.6Work ScheduleDay shift with weekend, holiday, and call rotations.Hours Per Week28WeekendsSomeCompensationCommensurate with experience.
