Kelly is hiring a Laboratory Technician for one of our clients in Sturtevant, WI

• Temp to perm
• Pay $21-22/hr with $1.50 shift premium
• 2nd shift M-F training schedule working 3pm-11pm and once they are staffed you will work 8pm to 4am M-F with OT on Saturdays Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --- Conduct required tests, analysis, and/or verification steps to assure that raw materials, batched product, and finished product exceeds established quality standards. --- Verify conformity through measurement and assessment. --- Make quick decisions and use sound judgement to make rational decisions pertaining to recommended adjustments, corrective actions, and disposition of goods. --- Ability to handle being exposed to smell and a variety of flavor products, essential oils and raw materials. --- Be able to participate in safety initiatives, committees, and teams. --- Never take shortcuts or use the improper tools/equipment that could compromise the safety of themselves or others. --- Food safety and quality is Kerry's priority so it's important to adhere to all Food Safety/Quality SOP's while also accurately completing required Food Safety & Quality records. --- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while also maintaining a hazard free work area. Minimum Requirements: --- 1+ years of experience in food, pharmaceutical industry, or manufacturing environment is needed to understand the needs in quality. --- High School Diploma or GED --- College Diploma or University Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or relevant science is preferred. --- Organizational skills & excellent communication skills are essential. --- Ability to read, write and communicate in English at a level to facilitate the understanding of the terminology of the job. --- Ability to use a computer and manufacturing software. --- Ability to comprehend and follow written and/or verbal procedures or instructions. --- Ability to organize and plan to maximize job efficiency and work safely. --- Ability to strive for excellence in all areas; focus on effective internal and external customer-supplier relationships. --- Previous work experience within a food manufacturing and distribution environment preferred. --- Experience with GMP, HACCP, FSMA, FCC/USP/ASTA test methods, aseptic technique and food or pharmaceutical production is preferred. --- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft office such as excel, and outlook is preferred. Working Conditions: --- Food manufacturing plant --- Warehouse environment Physical Requirements: --- Ability kneel, bend, squat, stoop, carry, reach, stand, grip, push, pull, arm extensions and perform elevated work. --- Ability to work in hot, cold or wet environments. --- Ability to lift 50 pounds on average of 150 times an hour. --- Ability to work overtime and use a flexible schedule.You should know: Your safety matters!
