Foreman CarpenterPOSITION SUMMARYThe Foreman Carpenter is
responsible to work hand in hand with the Production Manager for
projects related to both Vertical Works, Inc., and Utopian Villas.
Projects for this position will range from modular homes, modular
additions, golf studios, RV travel trailers, RV park models, and
any other type of residential or commercial project. Projects are
to be manufactured in our Mt. Pleasant, WI facility. This
individual will be responsible to lead a team of up to 10 people
and expect 10 simultaneous projects. You must be able to cultivate
and motivate the employees to perform their duties while holding
them accountable for the quality and profitability of their tasks.
The ability to have frequent and open communication with the
employees is required. It is expected that this position will need
to have the hard discussions which may lead to the dismissal of an
employee. This position will require constant check-ups, almost
hourly on employees to be effective on holding them accountable to
the schedule. It should be expected that this position may include
nights and weekends to meet deadlines. To be a successful Foreman
Carpenter you must be transparent, follow the process, and have a
high level of motivation for results and deadlines. This person
must first hold themselves accountable, then hold the employees
accountable. They must be of high integrity and have a strong will

and Texas and is growing by the day. OBJECTIVES:--- Work closely
with the Production Manager--- Understand the projects scope of
work prior to any part of the job starting production--- Identify
needed employees and employees that may no longer be a fit for
culture, quality, or profitability--- Assist the Production Manager
with making the right hiring decisions for factory employees and
assisting in performance reviews--- Have discussions with employees
for workplace violations and provide documentation--- Train new and
current employees to perform tasks with quality and to be
profitable--- Hold employees accountable for their daily tasks---
Understand what tasks need to be done and what materials are
needed--- Assist the Production Manager with creating a thoughtful
and accurate daily, weekly, and monthly schedules while meeting
deadlines --- Manage and direct sub-contractors as needed for
factory production while holding them accountable for quality and
deadlines--- Ensure that projects are delivered on-time--- Ensure
that projects are within budget and profitable as determined by the
company--- Ability to perform building related tasks as needed,
estimated 40% of the time--- Provide constant communication to the
Production Foreman--- Drive profitability through effectively
managing the projects billable hours and reducing errors--- Enforce
all safety requirements with employees COMPETENCIES--- Ability to
return all emails, voice, and text messages within 24hrs, includes
nights and weekends--- Provide daily and weekly project updates to
the Production Manager --- Meet the projects key performance
indicators as agreed by the Managing Director and President--- Have
a high level of verbal, written, and organizational skills --- Have
a high level of self-accountability for meetings and deadlines---
Have a high mechanical aptitude and excellent problem-solving
capabilities --- Ability to lead and provide direction with
instruction--- Ability to achieve and maintain employee's trust---
Ability to speak clearly and be easily understood, ability to
maintain eye contact when speaking with others, and ability to
summarize or paraphrase to verify understanding--- Ability to read
and comprehend detailed construction blueprints and
specifications--- Ability to present yourself in a well-groomed and
professional manner--- Strong knowledge of construction tools,
materials, and building practices and processes--- Have a basic
knowledge of technology including smartphones, tablets and
computers --- Incorporation of Vertical Works, Inc. business
philosophies and best practices when guiding customers, vendors,
and sub-contractorsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE--- GED or high school
diploma preferred--- At least 10 years of construction experience
in custom residential homes, modular homes, or remodeling
projects--- At least 5 years of experience managing multiple
employees and holding them accountablePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS---
Ability to occasionally lift 20-50 pounds, up to 100 pounds,
frequently lift 10 pounds--- Be comfortable with heights of 16'+---
Ability to be on your feet for 10 to 14 hours a day which will
include terrain, un-even surfaces, ladders, stairs, and the ability
